Applying a DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfer is one of the easiest ways to create a professional-looking custom shirt. Whether you're making apparel for yourself or a customer, following the proper steps will help ensure a durable, vibrant design.
Supplies You'll Need
DTF Transfer
Blank T-Shirt
Heat Press
Teflon Sheet or Parchment Paper
Lint Roller
Step 1: Prepare the Shirt
Remove any lint or dust with a lint roller, then pre-press the shirt for 5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
Step 2: Position the Transfer
Place the DTF transfer on the shirt where you want the design to appear. Double-check the placement before pressing.
Step 3: Press the Design
Follow the recommended temperature, pressure, and time provided with your transfer. A firm, even press helps create the best bond.
Step 4: Peel the Film
Allow the transfer to cool or peel immediately, depending on the transfer instructions.
Step 5: Final Press
Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and perform a final press for a few seconds to improve durability and finish.
Care Instructions
Wash inside out.
Use cold water.
Tumble dry on low or hang dry.
